Formidable Vegetable
… are a fresh harvest of hope in a wild and overgrown world. Equipped with a wheelbarrow-full of tasty swingfunk beets, brass and the ukulele of abundance, FoVeg enrich the soil of our minds and plant seeds of inspiration at every festival, fair and farmer’s market they perform at. Having toured to over 20 countries and with seven records under their belt, the band is paving the way for an entirely new kind of creative action for composting problems and growing abundant, community-scale solutions in their place.
This is their last show at home before heading overseas to play at Glastonbury.
Women from Venus
Let’s sing the world back into harmony. A special performance by the Kwoorabup riverside.
Rhian Bethan, Marie Limondin + Noni Oldfield - Kwoorabup Denmark, Lemon Myrtle - Wooditjup Bilya Margaret River, Cat Canteri Naarm Melbourne. Connecting through songs from deep within. Venus frequency.
The Primordial Notes
Inspired by the rhythms of ska, gypsy and groove, and the melancholy melodies of folk and soul, The Primordial Notes bring to you a truly unique sound.
Los Car Keys
Take guitars, charango, violin, ukulele, u-bass, mandolin, whistle, bombo, djembe and percussion. Add a large dollop of drums. Mix with six voices in close harmony vocals, sprinkle with South American and African influences, and serve with fun! A world music feast, featuring authentic vocals and highly charged instrumentals, played with Denmarkian zest, style and improvisations. Colour. Humour. Dancing. Spanish. We have it all! Hola! Vamos!
The Golden Hill Fiddlers
are back! These students from the Golden Hill Steiner School - where every child learns to play the violin – rehearse twice weekly, playing Celtic tunes on the verandah to welcome everyone to school on Fridays. Even beginners have a role in this colourful troupe of fiddlers – where age is no barrier! Intermediate fiddlers who have been playing for a few years show the beginners what is next.
And then there are the teenagers who have hung in there, practising day after day, week after week, ….and suddenly they sound awesome!!
The [Golden] hills are certainly alive with the sounds of music…….
